This upper has it all. Not only is it extremely lightweight and well-balanced, but the accuracy is even better. How do they do that? They use a Type III hard anodized machined aluminum receiver to reduce the weight but then fit it with a stainless steel match barrel. Their Competition Upper is unlike other lightweight designs in that even though it is lightweight it still features a stainless steel breech to withstand the rigors of competitive shooting.

No disappointments here.  This barrel costs as much as your standard MKIV pistol.  Nobody will argue with that.  But its instant satisfaction.  I have over 8000rds through mine so far, and not a single jam of any kind that was not magazine or ammunition related.  It just works.  With the Volquartsen bolt, it REALLY just works.   I did have an assembly issue the day that I bought it.  I emailed Volquartsen on a Saturday.  Scott Volquartsen emailed me at 8:30PM that same Saturday and I had a shipping label 30 minutes later.  Sent it back to them.  The entire gun.  Ruger Frame along with the LLV4 and bolt.  Had it back about a week later  at zero charge to me, and it has been running like a 2.2l Toyota engine from 1986 ever since.   Oh, also lights out accurate to boot, and no issues with at least 7 different types of ammunition.
